Meet the Muslim Children Building Mosques at home during COVID-19 Lockdown
COVID-19 meant that everything was closed but that did not stop some Muslim parents from around to bring the Masjid home. If they couldn’t take their kids to the mosque they thought they should bring the mosque to them. Muslim parents got creative and did something pretty inspiring! A DIY mosque! They spent some quality time with their children to get their creative juices flowing and designed and built a whole mosque from scratch. These mosques are usually made from cardboard or other materials that could be lying around the house. The kids got to do a fun crafty project, decorate it and paint it how they want, and also get bonding time with their parents while consolidating their Islamic learning. It was really quite beautiful.
We at My Salah Mat decided to dig deeper into this new trend and see just how creative these little children could be. The amazing thing is that My Salah Mat helped inspire some of these children in the most beautiful way possible. They were inspired to learn more while enjoying their time spent at home. They truly got the most out of it. Have a look at some of the wonderful mosques children have created with their parents from scratch...
Let us know in the comments what you did with your child during Lockdown! We'd love to hear your stories.
