Celebrating Diversity and Cultural Sharing at Maindee Primary School
It was a wonderful day at Maindee Primary School. This marked our first book reading session of "Ramadan in Space," welcoming Ramadan in the best possible way.
We received a fantastic reception from the headteacher, teachers, and students. Special thanks to Farzina, the local councillor, who has been instrumental in supporting our project. The children absolutely loved it! Dr. Wendy Booth, the amazing author of this book, was incredibly engaging. The illustrations in this book genuinely speak a thousand words.
It is crucial to engage with local schools and students to share traditions, culture, and religion. We live in a diverse nation, and these are truly exciting times to learn about and share our cultures. Having grown up in Newport, it's an honor to give back to my community in this way. This effort will benefit the community, and it warms my heart to be able to contribute.
Wales has pledged to become the world's first Anti-Racist Nation, a historic moment for the country. I look forward to visiting many more schools and sharing this story.
Representation is vital for a healthy society. Thank you to all the teachers and headteachers who are working diligently to bring diverse experiences into the classroom.
