Sharing My Salah Mat's Journey on Radio Cardiff
I had an absolute blast chatting with the amazing Donna Ali on Radio Cardiff! Masha’Allah, what an experience it was to sit down and unpack the journey of My Salah Mat, from its early days as a bold idea to achieving record-breaking success with over 125 million views. It was one of those moments where you reflect on how far you've come and how the support from the community has made all the difference.
Donna Ali, who is the true embodiment of an entrepreneur, made the conversation so much more engaging. Her insight, energy, and passion for business are infectious, and it was such a pleasure to share my journey with her. We dove into some fascinating topics, starting with how the idea for My Salah Mat came about. It’s always fun to look back at how something that began as a small concept grew into an international brand, helping children all over the world learn how to pray in a fun and interactive way.
It was also great to discuss the major milestones we've hit along the way. Masha’Allah, we've had some incredible moments, from our first sales to our products reaching families in more than 40 countries. However, what truly stands out is the viral success of one of our videos—125 million views and counting! Honestly, it’s hard to wrap my head around that number. On top of that, we’ve received over 7.6 million likes, which is just mind-blowing. The outpouring of love and support from the community has been incredible, and I can’t thank everyone enough for making this journey so special.
Of course, no success story is without its challenges. Donna and I also touched on some of the more difficult aspects of running a business, particularly the issue of counterfeiting. Unfortunately, when a product gains popularity, it’s bound to attract copycats. We’ve been dealing with counterfeit issues that even some of the big-name brands don’t face at this scale. It’s disheartening at times, but it’s also motivating—it reminds us that we must protect the integrity of our brand and the trust our customers have placed in us.
Despite the obstacles, it’s the support from the community and moments like these that keep us going. The My Salah Mat journey has been filled with ups and downs, but knowing that our product is making a real difference in children's lives is what fuels our drive to keep pushing forward.
I want to extend a huge thank you to Donna and the team at Radio Cardiff for having me. It was an absolute pleasure to chat with someone as inspiring as Donna, and I look forward to staying in touch and collaborating more in the future, Insha’Allah. We’ve got big plans ahead for My Salah Mat, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us next.
So, here’s to more milestones, more learning, and continuing to make a difference! Masha’Allah, the best is yet to come!
