One Night. £170,000 Raised. A Cause That Unites Us All

By Kamal Ali, Founder of My Salah Mat
Over £170,000 raised in one night.
It still feels surreal to write those words.
Recently, I had the privilege of attending a powerful fundraising event for Palestine, and it was nothing short of incredible. Organised by the amazing Nafila Khan, the night brought together hearts, voices, and generosity to support our brothers and sisters in need.
An Opportunity I Couldn’t Miss
As someone based in Wales, I often receive invitations to attend events in London—but between running a business, developing new products, and managing a growing team, saying yes isn’t always possible.
But this time, Allah made it easy. I was already in London for the expo, and attending this fundraiser felt like more than just good timing — it felt like purpose.
There was no way I could pass up the opportunity to contribute to a cause so close to all our hearts.
A Night to Remember
Tux on, I stepped into one of London’s top hotels and was instantly surrounded by familiar faces and brilliant Muslim entrepreneurs. The atmosphere was elegant yet sincere, filled with people eager to give, connect, and uplift one another.
I felt proud. Humbled. Energised.
As a boy from Newport, Pill, these kinds of spaces weren’t ones I grew up around. But here I was — not just attending, but actively helping raise over £170,000 for an incredibly important cause.
It was a reminder that the company you keep matters — that when we surround ourselves with intention-driven individuals, we grow in every direction.
Grateful to Be Part of Something Bigger
Nights like this aren’t just about numbers. They’re about impact.
About community.
About responding to the cries of those who need us.
I left that event with a full heart and a renewed sense of purpose.
Grateful for the invitation.
Grateful to be able to give.
Grateful to be part of something bigger.
May Allah accept everyone’s efforts and continue to grant ease to the people of Palestine. Ameen.
